- At the start, then Windows will call logo.sys file located in the main directory (C: \). Logo.sys files are hidden files, so to see it open Windows Explorer, click View - Folder Options. Pidah to the View tab, check the Show All Files. Click OK. Then with Windows Explorer, right click on the file logo.sys, select properties and remove all check marks.
- Create a backup file / backup if necessary.
- Switch to DOS prompt. Move to the main directory (c: \). Type "ren logo.sys logo.bmp" (without quotation marks).
- Open the file logo.bmp with your favorite image editor (Paint, PhotoShop, PhotoPaint, etc.).
- Edit the image as necessary and save it as a file logo.bmp.
- Back to the DOS prompt, rename logo.bmp with logo.sys by typing ren logo.bmp logo.sys.
- Restart Windows.
If you want to replace with another image, then the things to note are:
1. The image to be used in lieu of having the color as much as 256.
2. The file size of approximately 127 kb.
3. Large / image size 320 x 400 pixels
4. Extension should be. sys.
